JANSEN RECYCLING INVESTS IN CIRCULAR MARINE TECHNOLOGIES
Transition Corporate Finance advises Jansen Recycling Group with the investment in Circular Marine Technologies International
Amsterdam (6 June 2024) – Circular Marine Technologies International (CMT) is a scale-up that operates shipyards where cargo ships are dismantled in a fully automated sustainable manner at the end of their life cycle. All materials are recovered and recycled or used to generate energy. Jansen Recycling Group (JRG) provided seed funding during the start-up. In June 2024, Japanese company Sojitz Corporation completed the series A funding round. Transition Corporate Finance (TCF) advised JRG on the conversion of the loan into CMT shares.
Axel Fuhri Snethlage, partner at TCF: “JRG had been involved in CMT since the fouding. The environmentally friendly dismantling of ships is a growth market that is still in its infancy. The quantities of ferrous and non-ferrous materials released in the process are strategically valuable to JRG. With the arrival of Sojitz as a partner, CMT will be able to grow faster and roll out the concept to the Asian market”.
TCF advised JRG in the successful negotiations with CMT and Sojitz.
